Pet Policy
Stoke on Trent Housing Society recognises that pets can play an important role in supporting health and wellbeing.
With this in mind, we have recently reviewed our approach to pets in consultation with our Resident Group members. As a result, we have updated our Pet Policy to better balance responsible pet ownership with keeping our neighbourhoods safe, clean, and pleasant places to live.
When does the new policy start?
Our updated Pet Policy comes into effect on 1 June 2026.
What does the policy cover?
The policy:
• Supports responsible pet ownership
• Helps maintain safe and welcoming communities
• Sets clear expectations for residents who own or plan to keep pets

Applying to keep a pet
If you need permission to keep a pet in your home, you must apply before bringing the pet into your property.
